Roger Smith, 68, of Hermitage, TN died Friday, August 08, 2014 at McKendree Village in Hermitage, TN. Roger was born April 04, 1946 in Kimball, West Virginia. He was a retired Church Administrator and was committed to Covenant Community Church in Madisonville, KY. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Newton Smith and Ruby Aretta Minnick Smith; brother, Bob Smith, and sister, Drema Katona. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Evelyn Sue Smith of Hermitage, TN; niece Anette Street of West Virginia; and nephew Jeff Smith of Michigan; Godchildren, Leslie Goodman of Tennessee and Travis Goodman of Virginia. Services will be held at Covenant Community Church, Madisonville, KY at 2:00PM, Tuesday, August 12, 2014. Rev. Michael Knight will be officiating. Burial will follow at 5:00 in Murray City Cemetery in Murray, KY. Visitation will begin at 12:00PM, Tuesday August 12, 2014 until the service hour.
