Douglas Grogan, son of the late Willie Lee Grogan and L.D. Foster, entered life on May 27, 1944 in Murray, Kentucky. His parents; grandmother, Fedelia Grogan; one sister, Alice Faye (Jimmy) Walls; four brothers, Drake Foster, Costello Grogan, Keith Foster, Leo Foster; two nephews, Gary Walls and Darren Foster preceded him in death. Douglas found Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Horeb Free Will Baptist Church in Murray, Kentucky. He received his formal education and graduated from Douglass High School. Doug, as he was known to family and friends, moved to Chicago, Illinois after high school and stayed there for nearly 25 years before returning to Murray. During his later years, Doug became ill and was provided with care by brother Thurman H. Foster, and nephew Thurman W. Foster for the last years of his life. On Saturday, October 24, 2020, Doug departed this life at the Murray Calloway County Hospital to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish precious memories to his two sons, Douglas Davon Ballard of Murray, Ethan C. Tharpe of Mayfield; two grandchildren, Ahnyx Lawrence of Murray, Grayson Ballard of Florence, AL; four sisters, Eva Sue (the late William) Skinner, Morganfield, KY, Ann Foster, Vanessa Burris, Virginia (Robert) Daniels, all of Murray; two brothers, Clarence (Bernice) Grogan and Thurman H. Foster, both of Murray; sisters in law, Barbara Grogan, Hendersonville, TN, Sharon Foster, Morganfield, KY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 31, 2020 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home & Crematory, 1804 HIghway 121 Bypass North, Murray. Rev. Frederick E. Daniels will officiate and burial will follow at the Murray City Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at the Heritage Chapel.
